A one-year-old walker Coonhound/Catahoula mix, Waylon, recently came through our doors since he was not getting along with the other dogs at his home. Because Waylon is so new to us, we don’t know a lot about him. Waylon may be the dog for you if you are an avid hunter, as his previous owner trained him for that purpose. Staff and volunteers have noted that Waylon is a very affectionate dog, wanting attention wherever he can get it. Waylon does well on a leash as long as he doesn’t see any small wildlife. We don’t think Waylon would do well in a home with cats, given his training as a hunting dog. Check back for updates as we get to know Waylon. If you are interested in adopting him, you can call or message us through our website to find out how you can meet Waylon!
