Saving lives, serving community.

Adoption Center

We are located just east of Fort Bragg off Highway 20 on Summers Lane.

At the MCHS Adoption Center the core of our work takes place. Animals are received, quarantined, treated as necessary, booked into database, chipped, and then given the happiest temporary home possible — while ours is a happy shelter, it’s still not the forever home (we hope) these animals deserve.

Your support, and the generosity of friends near and far, makes it possible for us to be the best kind of shelter: a no-kill shelter.

Volunteer at the Adoption Center

Volunteers are critical to the work of MCHS. Our volunteers make a big difference in the lives of the animals while they are at the shelter and in finding them forever homes.

Making a difference in the lives of homeless animals.
Meeting other animal lovers and being part of an animal loving network.
Learning New Skills or polishing old ones.
